My layouts are loose. I just need to get them to where I can ink the details. In this case, I do have the safety net of the undo button, but I’m used to drawing with ink in my sketchbooks. I like sketching with red or blue pencil too, but got away from using graphite a long time ago. (With the exception of the Blackwing pencil here and there.)

Even inking digitally you have to find the right brush. It’s going to vary artist to artist what works and responds to the way you draw. Sometimes it varies month to month, mood to mood. It’s good to keep things fresh.

At this point everything is done in Clip Studio Paint. I still remember having to scan in 11×17 pages IN HALVES on a 8.5 x 11 scanner and stitch them together in Photoshop. 11×17 scanners were thousands of dollars. And they were only black and white.
We have an embarrassment of riches now.
