Have a sketchbook and a few minutes? An easy (and inexpensive) way to practice color, color relationships, and experiments is with crayons. Just plain old Crayolas. Save your precious Copics for when you need them. Break out the paints when you have a little more time. If you just want to quickly play with color theory and get ideas or just make your sketches look fancier than they are, well, crayons are highly underrated.

Use your sketchbook to test out various pens as well!
