I’ve gotten into the habit of carrying a really thin Moleskin notebook around with me. I used to get the hard cover ones made specifically for drawing, but I found I’m more likely to slip the thin ones into my pocket. Today at church we sat in the back row and I drew the backs of people’s heads while I was listening to the sermon. As I’ve mentioned before, I listen better when I’m drawing. If you want me to zone out, then insist that I look like I’m paying attention.
My son was next to me coloring and my wife had bought these Crayola Twistable Crayons. I just happened to grab the red one to see how it would do in my sketch book. Then I told her I was keeping it. It, along with the notebook and Pilot Fineliner, fit nicely in the same pocket as my phone. The crayon really is underrated as an on-the-go sketching tool.
